- Real Estate: Hilton Head Plantation was designed to offer an affordable, residential alternative to the tourist-oriented resorts of Hilton Head. One of the largest communities on the Island, HHP was developed into numerous separate neighborhoods with separate identities - some with their own individual pool and recreation area. With over 4000 homes, this residential community offers a wide price range with a variety of views including golf, lagoon, marsh, deepwater and sound. Many families and retired residents live in the Plantation because of its affordability, resort-like amenities and convenience to schools, shopping, etc.

- Features of interest: Hilton Head Plantation is home to the Whooping Crane Conservancy, a 137-acre preserved forest and wetlands. Also, the remains of the Union’s Ft. Mitchell can be viewed overlooking Skull Creek. Dolphin Head Beach Park, overlooking Port Royal Sound, provides residents a place for cookouts and parties along with a playground and basketball court. Located on the north-end of the Island, HHP is convenient to schools, shopping, restaurants and Harris Teeter (grocery store) is outside the gate in the Main Street commercial district.
