Forest Beach and Folly Field, hilton head island
- Real Estate:: Both communities were some of Hilton Head’s first developments created much like beachfront properties along the Jersey Shore and Virginia Beach. Initial construction dates back to the late 50’s and 60’s with small “beach bungalows” used as a summer retreat. These older homes are being torn down and large, rental homes are being built to maximize the value of the oceanfront or near-ocean location. Forest Beach and Folly Field will offer a wide cross-section of homes for sale with values determined by location and age / condition of the property. Many homes in this area are rental properties.
- 2010 Home Prices: range from the $400’s to over $4M (Forest Beach)
- 2010 Villa Prices: range from the $200’s to over $1.5M (Folly Field)
- Beach Access Areas: There are direct common access points (easements) to the beach which may involve a 5-10 minute walk based on location – still, very convenient.
- Features of interest: Forest Beach area (South-end) is close to the Coligny Beach area with an assortment of shopping and restaurants whereas Folly Field (North-end) is near the Port Royal Plaza and Pineland Station with its shopping and restaurants.
